Potton Shotokan Karate Club recently celebrated it's
tenth anniversary. The club was set up in October 1995 by chief
instructor Richard Scoot at the Potton Sports Centre. "We originally
trained in the small hall which is now the gymnasium", he said.
"Fortunately for us, when Tony and Emma at the
sports centre created the gym, we moved to the big hall. My first
class attracted about ten students but now we have over 40 training
every Tuesday. The only original student still training is Vicky
Byford who is our senior female instructor."
The club is CRB Certified, insured and affiliated
to the English Shotokan Karate Association.
